Why have you chosen Kiva?

Part of the Projectline mission is to have a positive impact on our community, which we consider to be our local community, the global community, and our industry community. We love to give our time, energy, and resources. Kiva gives us an opportunity to positively impact the global community, using our resources, even though we are not able to travel.

How does your philanthropic giving relate to your business?

As a small business, it seems fitting that we are able to support other small business around the world, while also fulfilling part of our company mission. We also serve global clients, and work with hundreds of individuals around the world, so it is important to us that even though we are based locally, we act globally.

How long have you related your giving to your business?

We have been giving to Kiva as a business since February 2007 (22 months), which we love. Projectline is owned by 3 partners, so every month each partner picks one business to loan to - meaning that we impact 3 business each month! Also, because we believe in Kiva's mission, 16 months ago we also gave 150 Kiva gift certificates to our clients so that they could experience micro loans first hand.

Have you found any direct benefits to your business - with staff and/or customers?

Our employees like working for a company who gives back to the community, so this likely increases their overall work satisfaction. This of course helps us retain high quality employees who share our values, which in turns mean we have better people serving our clients, who then are more satisfied. It is a great chain. Also, when clients see that we are in business for more than just the money, they are more likely to trust us to look out for their best interests as well.

What other charities and/or causes do you support?

Each month we volunteer for a local charity. Here you can see a list of places we have given money to or volunteered for recently.  This month, October, we are doing a food drive for NW Harvest.
